The Associates Series for People of Potential is designed for new and aspiring em-ployees who demonstrate the desire to grow into leadership positions. The series consists of six full-day workshop days over five months and provides the basics of professionalism and good management skills that get you noticed as a leader. There are assignments between sessions to enhance growth while going through this series.

Sessions 1 & 2: Personality Styles, Professional Image and Leadership Awareness

  • Introductions and get to know each other.
  • Understand personality style and its impact on leadership.
  • Determine how you take in information, make decisions, and communicate.
  • Explore your Visibility and Credibility style.
  • Discuss leadership ethics and learn to lead up, down, and across.
  • Create a professional image through personal organization.

Sessions 3 & 4: Management Theory and Leadership Accountabilities

  • Examine supervisory styles and determine your own.
  • Organize priorities, modeling the Covey Matrix and review management vs. leadership.
  • Learn to conduct useful and efficient meetings.
  • Understand your Locus of Control in leadership.
  • Explore transactional and transformational change and the importance of emotional intelligence (EQ).

Sessions 5 & 6: Communication, Motivation, & Potential

  • Explore how adults learn and develop effective engagement strategies.
  • Discover key characteristics of exceptional leaders.
  • Determine personal and professional goals.
  • Develop good communication skills and learn how to build and maintain professional networks.
  • Share your learning through a professional presentation and celebrate your success!
